ooo Privacy Policy

Effective 21 October 2026 (Korean original, announced 14 October 2026) · translation updated 14 October 2026 · 한국어 · 日本語

This is an English translation of the Korean privacy policy (PRIVACY.md), which is written under the Republic of Korea's Personal Information Protection Act. The developer, Eunchae Kim ("the developer"), publishes this policy to explain how ooo handles information. If the two versions differ, the Korean version prevails.

Summary

ooo analyzes face photos only on your device. Photos, facial landmarks and results are never sent to the developer's or any third party's server, and the developer cannot access them. Photos and landmarks are not stored; only a measurement record (dates and numbers) is kept on your device. ooo has no sign-up and collects no information that directly identifies you, such as your name or contact details.

To keep the app free, ooo shows Google AdMob ads and collects anonymous usage statistics with Google Analytics for Firebase. Device information and in-app usage records are sent to Google for this purpose. Face photos and results are not included.

1. Purpose of processing

The developer does not collect, store or use your personal information.

To measure facial symmetry, ooo processes the photo you take or select, but this happens entirely on your own device (on-device) and nothing is transmitted to the developer.

Information processed on your device, and why:

To provide and improve the app free of charge, the following is processed by Google LLC:

2. Information processed

The developer does not collect information that directly identifies you.

However, the Google services included in the app automatically collect and process the following:

The iOS app does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission. On iOS, it therefore does not track you across other apps or websites.

In the Android app, Google AdMob uses the device's advertising ID and app set ID to serve ads and measure their performance. The advertising ID is a resettable identifier that Android provides for advertising; you can delete or reset it at any time as described in section 11. The app set ID is used only across apps from the same developer, for ad frequency capping and fraud prevention. Usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase) do not use the advertising ID. These identifiers are not linked to face photos, landmarks or the measurement record.

Face photos, facial landmark coordinates, result images and the measurement record are not part of the above, and the app does not send them off your device.

The app requests the following device permissions. Regardless of whether you grant them, nothing obtained through them is sent to the developer.

About sensitive (biometric) information

ooo extracts landmark coordinates from a face image, but not to identify a particular person — only to measure left–right ratios. The coordinates stay in the device's memory while the result is shown and are then discarded; they are never written to a file or transmitted off the device. The measurement record keeps only numbers calculated from the coordinates, not the coordinates themselves, and these numbers cannot be used to reconstruct a face or identify a person. The developer does not collect or keep them.

3. Children

ooo is not primarily intended for children under 14 (or the minimum age in your region) and does not collect identifying information such as names or contact details from children. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age and will promptly stop the relevant processing if it becomes aware of such collection.

4. Retention

The developer itself holds no personal information. The advertising and analytics information collected by Google under section 2 is kept under Google's policies (Google Analytics event data for up to 14 months by default; advertising records under Google's privacy policy). The developer sees this information only as aggregated statistics that cannot identify an individual.

Information processed on your device is handled as follows.

5. Deletion

Because the developer collects and keeps no personal information, there is nothing for the developer to delete.

Temporary files on the device are deleted by the app. You can delete the measurement record yourself on the History screen, and deleting the app removes all data stored inside the app, including the measurement record. Result images you saved to your photo library and any copy of the record in your device backup remain after the app is deleted; you can delete them yourself.

6. Sharing with third parties

The developer does not provide your personal information to third parties.

When you use the in-app "Share" feature yourself, the result image is passed to the app you choose (messaging, social media, etc.). This is your own voluntary action, and further handling follows that service's privacy policy.

For ad serving and analytics, the information in section 2 is sent to Google LLC; this is the processing on the developer's behalf described in section 7 and the cross-border transfer described in section 8.

7. Processing on the developer's behalf

The developer follows the relevant policies and terms so that information is handled safely, and will update this policy if the processor or the tasks change.

8. Cross-border transfer

ooo's face detection uses Google ML Kit's on-device library, and jawline detection uses Apple's Vision framework on iOS and Google MediaPipe's on-device library on Android. All of them work entirely on the device without an internet connection. Face photos and landmark data are not sent to any server, in any country, including Google's.

Information for ad serving and analytics is transferred abroad as follows.

You can object to this transfer as described in section 10. If you do, ads in the app may not display correctly.

9. Security measures

10. Automatic collection and how to opt out

ooo uses Google's automatic collection technologies for ads and usage statistics. You can refuse or limit them as follows.

All features of the app work the same if you limit ads; ads may simply be non-personalized.

11. Automated decision-making

The symmetry indicators ooo produces are reference measurements and do not constitute automated decisions affecting your rights or obligations.

12. Your rights

You may at any time request access to, correction of, deletion of, or suspension of processing of your personal information.

Since the developer holds no personal information about you, there is nothing to access, correct or delete on the developer's side. Result images saved to your photo library can be deleted there at any time, and the measurement record can be deleted on the History screen or by deleting the app.

Requests can be sent to the contact below and will be handled without delay. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority; users in the Republic of Korea can contact the agencies listed in the Korean version of this policy.

13. Contact

14. Nature of the service

The symmetry indicators ooo provides are reference measurements based on a photo and are not intended for medical diagnosis, treatment or prescription. If you need a judgment about your health or appearance, please consult a professional.

15. Changes to this policy

The Korean policy that this translation follows takes effect on 21 October 2026 (the previous version applies from 12 to 20 October 2026).

If the policy is added to, deleted from or corrected due to changes in law, policy or the service, the changes will be announced on this page at least 7 days before they take effect, or at least 30 days before in the case of significant changes to your rights.
